(Kuala Lumpur) — The Malaysia-China Culture and Education Association (MCCEA) is deepening cooperation with the Singapore Music and Arts Association (SMAA), with at least three upcoming cultural and arts exchange initiatives spanning Malaysia, Singapore and China, opening a broader platform for regional cultural and artistic collaboration.
The planned activities are the “Five Colors of Ceramic Art, Devoted Heart” exhibition, an AI Music Roundtable, and a Malaysia-Singapore-China Pop Music Education Forum, covering ceramic art, floral aesthetics, AI-driven music, pop music education, and cross-border artistic talent exchange.
Both associations noted that the power of culture and the arts is often gentle yet far-reaching. It need not announce itself through grand rhetoric — it can close the distance between people through a single artwork, a song, an exhibition, or a conversation. As the world increasingly needs understanding, inclusiveness and cooperation, cultural and artistic exchange matters more than ever, offering people of different nations, generations and backgrounds a shared language found in beauty and creativity.
Malaysia brings the depth of a multicultural society; Singapore brings the agility of an international platform; China brings a profound civilizational heritage and vast innovation momentum. If the three can build bridges through culture and the arts, ground cooperation in educational exchange, and orient it toward nurturing youth talent, the partnership is bound to produce collaborative outcomes with warmth, depth and lasting impact.
MCCEA President Eugene Wong recently met with SMAA President Colin Qi in Kuala Lumpur, where the two held in-depth discussions on future cooperation between the two associations in culture, the arts, education, music and youth exchange, reaching consensus on several fronts.
Wong noted that culture and the arts serve as an important bridge across language, geography and institutional differences, and as a soft form of power that fosters people-to-people understanding, mutual civilizational learning, and regional goodwill. Going forward, MCCEA aims not only to advance cultural and educational exchange between Malaysia and China, but to further connect cultural and artistic forces across Singapore, China and Southeast Asia, forming a cooperation network with greater international vision and contemporary relevance.
He added that Malaysia and Singapore, both multicultural societies, share deep foundations and similar experience in Chinese-language education, pop music, artistic creation, cultural heritage and youth development, while China holds vast cultural resources, an expansive arts market, technology platforms and innovation momentum. Should the three sides form complementary cooperation in culture and the arts, it would inject new vitality into regional cultural development.
SMAA President Colin Qi said culture and the arts know no borders — genuinely excellent artistic exchange can transcend national boundaries, generational gaps and cultural backgrounds, allowing people to resonate in aesthetics, thought and emotion.
A veteran and well-known figure in Singapore’s Xinyao and pop music scene himself, Qi said SMAA has long been committed to advancing music, the arts and cross-disciplinary cultural activities, and hopes to work with MCCEA to bring more projects of depth, creativity and international character to Malaysia, Singapore and the wider region.
Qi noted that the value of art lies in its ability to bring people of different backgrounds together in open dialogue, understanding and cooperation — whether through the cross-disciplinary pairing of ceramic and floral art, or explorations of AI music and pop music education, all reflecting how culture and the arts continue to push past old boundaries toward richer, more diverse development.
The first joint promotional activity will be the “Five Colors of Ceramic Art, Devoted Heart” exhibition, hosted by SMAA and jointly promoted by MCCEA together with the Perak Aesthetic Gymnastics Association. The exhibition runs from 7 to 9 August at WooSee Fine Art.
Malaysian ceramic artist Liang Zhixian, with over three decades in the field, will collaborate for the first time with veteran Singaporean floral art master Lin Liankang in a groundbreaking cross-disciplinary dialogue between ceramic and floral art. The exhibition is jointly curated by WooSee Fine Art gallery director Xu Wenhao and SMAA President Colin Qi. The gallery, which also exclusively represents internationally renowned painter Dr. Liu Daisong, lends the exhibition a strong international artistic foundation and curatorial rigor.
The “Five Colors of Ceramic Art, Devoted Heart” exhibition carries special meaning: ceramic art symbolizes land, roots and the accumulation of time, while floral art symbolizes life, emotion and the beauty of nature. Their pairing is not merely a collision of media, but also a symbol of deep exchange — between tradition and the contemporary, between Malaysia and Singapore, and between artists and audiences.
Two further activities in planning — the AI Music Roundtable and the Malaysia-Singapore-China Pop Music Education Forum — form part of the “Voice of Qi” webinar series.
The AI Music Roundtable will explore how artificial intelligence is reshaping music composition, arrangement, performance, education, copyright, industry development and the cultivation of future music talent, with confirmed guests including Dr. Xu Tianhua and other senior music professionals from Malaysia and abroad.
The Malaysia-Singapore-China Pop Music Education Forum, also a flagship item in the “Voice of Qi” series, will focus on sharing pop music education experience and upgrading vocal teaching methods across Singapore, Malaysia and China, bringing together music educators and industry representatives from different regions.
Pop music is more than an entertainment industry — it is also a form of youth culture, language expression, creative education and cross-regional exchange. Malaysia, Singapore and China each bring distinct strengths in Chinese-language pop music; a forum that fosters teaching exchange, faculty interaction and curriculum sharing would help raise the professional standard of pop music education across the region.
Many young people are passionate about music, singing, songwriting and performance, but turning that passion into capability — and capability into a career — requires a more complete education system, professional guidance and industry exposure.

（吉隆坡讯）马中文化教育协會将至新加坡音乐与艺术协會进一步深化合作，并在接下来配合举办至少三项横跨马来西亚、新加坡与中国文化艺术交流的活动，为区域文化艺术合作开拓更宽广的平台。
有关活动分别是《陶艺五色献心华》展览、AI音乐圆栏会，以及新马中流行音乐教育论均，内容涵盖陶瓷艺术、花艺美学、人工智能音乐、流行音乐教育及跨国艺术人才交流等领域。
两个协會声明，文化艺术的力量往往是温柔而深远的。它不一定以宏大的语言出现，却能在一件作品、一首歌曲、一场展览、一段对话之中，拉近人与人之间的距离。在全球越来越需要理解、包容与合作的今天，文化艺术交流更显重要。它能让不同国家、不同世代、不同背景的人，在美与创意之中找到共同语言。
马来西亚有多元文化的厚度，新加坡有国际平台的敏捷，中国有深厚文明与庞大创新动能。若三方能以文化艺术为桥，教育交流为本，青年培育为方向，未来必定能开创更多有温度、有深度、有影响力的合作成果。
马中文化教育协會会长王康泰日前在吉隆坡与新加坡音乐与艺术协會会长祝哲泉会面，双方就两个协會未来在文化、艺术、教育、音乐及青年交流方面的合作方向进行深入氛谈，并达致多项合作共识。
王康泰指出，文化与艺术是跨越语言、地域与制度差异的重要桥梁，也是促进民心相通、文明互鉴及区域友好的柔性力量。马中文化教育协會未来将不只是推动马中之间的文化教育交流，也希望进一步连接新加坡、中国及东南亚各地的文化艺术力量，形成更具国际视野与时代意义的合作网络。
他说，马来西亚与新加坡同处多元文化社会，两地在华文教育、流行音乐、艺术创作、文化传承及青年培育方面，都有深厚基础与相近经验；而中国则拥有庞大的文化资源、艺术市场、科技平台与创新动能。若三方能在文化艺术领域形成互补合作，将能为区域文化发展注入新的生命力。
新加坡音乐与艺术协會会长祝哲泉则指出，文化艺术无国界，真正优秀的艺术交流，能够超越国家边界、世代差异与文化背景，让人们在美感、思想与情感上产生共鸣。
本身也是资深与着名新谓及流行音乐人的他说，新加坡音乐与艺术协會长期致力于推动音乐、艺术及跨界文化活动，并希望与马中文化教育协會携手，把更多具有深度、创意与国际元素的项目带到马来西亚、新加坡及更广泛的区域平台。
祝哲泉表示，艺术的可贵之处，在于它能让不同背景的人坐在一起，以开放的心态对话、理解及合作。无论是陶艺与花艺的跨界结合，还是AI音乐与流行音乐教育的探讨，都代表着文化艺术正在不断突破原有边界，迈向更丰富与多元的发展方向。
接下来，首个合作推广活动将是由新加坡音乐与艺术协會主办的《陶艺五色献心华》展览，并由马中文化教育协會与霍隆美学体操协會联合推广。活动将于8月7日至9日，在WooSee Fine Art开展。
在陶瓷艺术领域深耕三十颧载的马来西亚陶艺家梁志跥，将首次与新加坡资深花艺大师林涵康携手，展开一场陶艺与花艺之间的破天荒跨界对话。本次展览由WooSee Fine Art画廣董事许文豪，联同新加坡音乐与艺术协會会长祝哲泉共同策划。该画廣也是国际知名画家刘岸松博士的专属艺术画廣，为本次展览始定了浓厚的国际艺术底著与专业策展基础。
《陶艺五色献心华》展览具有特殊意义，因为陶艺象征土地、根基与时间的沉消，花艺则象征生命、情感与自然之美。两者的结合，不只是媒材之间的碰撞，也象征传统与当代、马来西亚与新加坡、艺术家与观众之间的深度交流。
另外两项正在策划中的活动，则包括AI音乐圆栏会及新马中流行音乐教育论均，两者皆属于“泉声系列网络研讨会”的重要内容。
AI音乐圆栏会将以人工智能音乐为主题，探讨AI如何影响音乐创作、编曲、演唱、教育、版权、产业发展及未来音乐人才培养。拟出席尅宾包括许天化博士等海内外资深音乐人。
另一项活动则是新马中流行音乐教育论均，同样属于“泉声系列网络研讨会”的重点项目，主打新加坡、马来西亚与中国流行音乐教育经验互通，以及歌唱教学方法升级。有关论均将郎请来自不同地区的音乐教育工作者与业界代表参与。
流行音乐不只是娱乐产业，也是一种青年文化、语言表达、创意教育与跨地域交流方式。马来西亚、新加坡与中国在华语流行音乐方面各有特色，若能通过论均促进教学交流、师资互动及课程方法分享，将有助提升本区域流行音乐教育的专业水平。
许多年轻人对音乐、歌唱、创作与表演充满热情，但若要把兴趣转化为能力，把能力转化为职业发展，就需要更完整的教育体系、专业指导及产业视野。
